Every measure to be taken to prevent kidney diseases - President


Every measure will be taken to provide every facility to treat kidney patients as well as to prevent kidney diseases, emphasized President Maithripala Sirisena.

On this regard, the Government will take every action on behalf of people, without bowing down to the dictates of multi-national companies or any other market force, he added.

The President was speaking at a ceremony held in Buddhi Mandapaya in Polonnaruwa today (Jan. 26) to deliver grants of Rs. 3000.00 to kidney patients. The President symbolically handed over the grants to some kidney patients at this occasion.

President Sirisena pointed out the kidney diseases have been spread out not only in Raja Rata, but also in most areas in the country. He emphasized that he will take every action without any hesitation to give quick solutions for this problem.

The President declared that a sub-committee will be appointed on prevention of kidney diseases. The measures will be initiated based on the recommendations of the committee consists of medical specialist, he said.
