It was the farming community in Pulathisipura and the people in this country who raised me to the position of the Head of the State in this country. Hence, I will be committed to execute my duties towards them to the best of my ability, said President Maithripala Sirisena.
The honor should be given to all the people in this country who contributed to end the corrupt governance and bring forward the good governance, he said.
The President was addressing a meeting held yesterday (Jan. 25) at Thopawewa Playground in Pulathisipura. The meeting was organized to convey Presidentís gratitude to the people in Pulathisipura, for the encouragement and strength extended by them to go forward amidst many difficulties.
