Singapore Foreign Minister due in Sri Lanka this week to boost ties


Singapore's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Law K Shanmugam will be visiting Sri Lanka and India from Feb 23 to Feb 26, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said on Sunday.

Singapore Foreign Ministry said in a statement that Mr. Shanmugam's visit to Sri Lanka is aimed at reaffirming the strong and friendly relations between Singapore and Sri Lanka.

During his visit, Mr. Shanmugam will call on President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe. He will also meet his Sri Lankan counterpart Foreign Affairs Minister Affairs Mangala Samaraweera and Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendran.
