President Maithreepala Sirisena says a person can build up their true humanitarian spirit only through leading a hard way of life, but not with a luxurious way of life.
“A person who has really experienced the sufferings, agony and the pain of life will only understand the feelings of others”, he further said.
He made these observations participating as a Chief Guest at the Annual Award Ceremony of the Sakya Higher Education Institute held at the BMICH in Colombo yesterday (24).
“One should have determination, courage and commitment to win the challenges of life. Therefore, students of the country should develop all these qualities to make the life a success,” the President said, adding that he became the leader of the country amidst enormous difficulties and his life is exemplary on determination, courage and commitment for the children in this country.
‘Sakya Sarasavi Abhisheka Mangalya’ was organized to felicitate the students who gained admission to the Universities and obtained high marks in 2013-14 A/L examinations.
Addressing the gathering, President Maithreepala Sirisena said that as a non-governmental education institute Sakya Higher Education Institute has done an enormous service for children in our country.
Ranjith Siyambalapitiya, MP and Mr. Bandara Dissanayaka, Chairman of the Sakya Higher Education Institute also present at the occasion.
