Dedicated to fulfill people’s expectations - President

President Maithripala Sirisena said he is totally dedicated to fulfill the expectations of the people who elected a new Government.

“The current Government is committed to build a prosperous and peaceful country eradicating the mistrust, fear and suspicion among communities”, he added.

Addressing the Sri Lankan community in London yesterday (March 11) President Sirisena said that he was working with the Prime Minister and the Cabinet of Ministers to fulfill all the pledges given to the people.

The President thanked the people for the support extended by them to bring the expected change in the country.

President Sirisena also met members of the "Support Maithri - UK," a group which was formed to support the President during the last Presidential election and the UNP - UK branch members.

In addition, the members of the Jaffna Hindu College Old Boys Association (London Wing) too, had called on the President in London.

The President attended a programme organised by religious leaders of Buddhist, Christian and Islamic faiths to invoke blessings on him at the Sri Lankan High Commission in London.
