President hands over copy of 19th amendment to Mahanayakas

 

President Maithripala Sirisena presented the 19th amendment to the constitution which has many proposals for good governance to the Mahanayaka of the Malwatta Chapter.

President Sirisena presented a copy of the 19th amendment to the constitution to Mahanayaka of the Malwatta Chapter Most Venerable Tibbotuwawe Sri Sumangala Thera at Malwatta Maha Viharaya in Kandy yesterday (April 26).

Anunayaka of the Malwatta Chapter Venerable Niyangoda Vijitha Siri Thera exchanged views with the President. Thereafter the President called over on Anunayaka of the Asgiriya Chapter Venerable Galagama Attadassi Thera and handed over a copy of the 19th amendment of the constitution to him.

The President also visited the Chief Incumbent of the Gatambe Raajopa-Wanaramaya temple Venerable Keppeti-yaagoda Siri Wimala Thera. Opposition Leader Nimal Siripala de Silva, Parliamentarians Anura Priyadharshana Yapa, and S.B. Dissanayake were present on the occasion.
