Political parties should get rid of obstacles prevent brotherhood among communities - President

President Maithripala Sirisena pointed out that the main responsibility vested in all political parties today is to get rid of obstacles that prevent brotherhood among all communities in the country.

The President was addressing the Colombo District Convention of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party yesterday (May 12). Several activists of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party including General Secretary Anura Priyadarshana Yapa attended this Convention which was organized at the Ape Gama premises in Battaramulla. Many Sri Lanka Freedom Party activists representing the Colombo District participated.

Further addressing the Convention, the President underscored that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party should have the strength to fulfill the aspirations of all the people whatever their religion may be. He said that the SLFP should be made a Party which has won the trust and attraction of all communities.

The President added that the SLFP should dedicate itself to render a maximum service to the country and the people achieving a resounding victory at the forthcoming General election.
