President praises Tri Forces' personnel

The Tri Forces' personnel should be ready to engage in any kind of rescue operation similar to the one they participated in Nepal affected by the earthquake, President Maithripala Sirisena said.

He made this observation to felicitate Sri Lanka's Rescue and Relief contingent to Nepal at a ceremony at Temple Trees yesterday (May 18).

President Sirisena said Sri Lankan Forces' personnel who ended the nearly three decade war have been hailed at international level with the successful operation in Nepal.

He said not only the people in Nepal and in the region but even the international community respect Sri Lanka's Tri Forces personnel.

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, Tri Forces' Commanders, four civil medical consultants and the contingent who participated in rescue operations in Nepal were present.

Tri forces Commanders and all contingent members received mementos.
