President Maithripala Sirisena says he would not try to unduly influence any business or entrepreneur in the way some previous politicians of the Government did, but will give support for the development of business.
“We expect only the tax and other payments due to the government from the entrepreneurs after they become successful in their business. I do not want any benefit or remuneration from them,” he said.
The President was speaking at the opening of 10th Sri Lanka Hotel Exhibition held at Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) today (May 22).
President Sirisena also said he would take action to ban importation of Glyphosate pesticide which causes kidney diseases. ‘If Sri Lanka would lose its good name due to kidney diseases, Dengue or other illnesses, it will affect on tourism industry’, the President pointed out.
The President handed over certificates to the newly passed out students of the Hotel School.
