District Secretaries praise President for ban on Glyphosate


President Maithripala Sirisena met all District Secretaries of the island at the President Secretariat yesterday (May 25) and focused attention on the administrative problems faced by them in district level development programmes.

The President said they should be committed to provide better service for the public. “People friendly officials will always be praised by the society”, he said.

The District Secretaries praised the President for his immediate measures taken to ban import and sale of agro chemical Glyphosate.

Minister of Home Affairs & Fisheries Joseph Michael Perera and Secretary to the President B. B. Abeykoon also participated at this meeting.
