President participates in Sadahm Yathra at Dimbulgala

 

The fourth successive Buddhist sermon of the series of sermons facilitated by ‘Sadaham Yathra Program’ was held today (June 2) at Dimbulgala Aranya Senasana with participation of President Maithripala Sirisena.

The sermon was delivered by Ven. Iththepane Dhammalankara Thero, the Mahanayake of Samagri Dharma Maha Sanga Sabha, Kotte.

The Sadaham Yathra Program is held every Poya Day, with the participation of the President at a historical temple. It is carried out under the guidance of President Sirisena who demonstrates how the leaders of society should dedicate to work together with people in villages.

The President also looked in to the well-being of the Chief Incumbent of Dimbulagala Aranya Senasana Ven. Maldeniye Jinalnkara Theo, who is ill. President also offered pirikara to Jinalankara Thero.

A new computer laboratory at Dimbulgala Aranya Senasana was also declared open by the President. He said that he would take action to expedite development work of the Aranya Senasana.

Chief Minister of North Central Province Peshala Jayaratne, Secretary to the President P.B. Abeykoon and Chairman of Sri Lanka Telecom Kumarasinghe Sirisena were among those participated at the ceremony.
