“It is the responsibility of all of usis to eliminate the fear and mistrust among every community and to build trust between them”, said President Maithripala Sirisenaparticipating in the Iftar Ceremony at Temple Trees yesterday (29).
A large number of Islamic religious leaders and devotees were attended the ceremony.
They commended the President Sirisena’s commitment to reconciliation. The religious leaders also invoked blessings for national reconciliation in the country.
Addressing the gathering the President emphasized on the importance of holding events of this nature to strengthen national reconciliation.
Prime Minister Ranil Wickremasinghe, A.H.M.Fowzie and Rishad Bathiudeen were also present at the Iftar ceremony.
