Protect human values while progressing with modern technology - President

 

Whatever advanced development is achieved in modern information technology, the fruits of that development cannot be properly utilized if the kindness and humanity of the society is deteriorated, said President Maithripala Sirisena.

Sri Lankan society is not second to any country in the world in kindness, discipline and humanity. We should always be dedicated to protect our proud culture while progressing with modern technology, he added.

The President stated this while he declared open the INFO 2015 Exhibition, organized by the Vishaka Vidyalaya in Colombo in collaboration with ICT Branch, Ministry of Education, at the Exhibition and Convention Centre (SLECC), Colombo today (03).

“We cannot ignore the technological progress in our society”, the President said, adding that there should be perfect understanding that there are two sides to every issue while adopting new trends in our society.

INFO 2015 is a mega ICT exhibition organized by Vishaka Vidyalaya in Colombo for the second consecutive year.

Ministers Wijedasa Rajapaksa, Gayantha Karunatileka, Sujeewa Senasinha, the principal and the members of the staff of the Vishaka Vidyalaya , parents and other dignitaries were also participated at the event.
