Yesterday near Trincomalee a vehicle belonging to DHL Co. Ltd. of Kantale was looted and Rs 70,000 were taken away by terrorists.

     Subsequently, troops and police personnel in joint search operation in the area recovered a CD 90 Honda Motor Cycle without number plates that the fleeing terrorists left behind when troops blocked all getaway routes of the area.

     Meanwhile, yesterday around 11.20 am in Thanankilappu snipers deployed along the defences killed two terrorists.

     In Vankalaipadu, troops on a cordon and search operation recovered one fibre glass dinghy along with one 15HP outboard motor, one modified T-56 weapon, four hand grenades, three magazines with rounds, one portable generator and a few used clothing items. 

     On Sunday, around 10.50 pm out at sea off Railway Station at Trincomalee, terrorists who came in a boat fired 40mm Grenades at the Railway Station. A few grenades had fallen into the cemetery, located in front of the station, and others had fallen close to the railway buildings. When the troops searched the area, they found a boat in which the terrorists had come and left behind. The attack was aimed at disrupting railway operations and bringing additional hardships to the general public.
