Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya is ranked fifth among all rounders in the world according to the latest PricewaterhouseCoopers cricket ratings. Spinner Muttaih Muralitharan and top batsman Mahela Jayawardena are also in the world top ten for bowlers and batsmen respectively. Murali is ranked number three among the top ten bowlers while Mahela has secured the fifth position among the top ten test batsmen. “I am quite happy to be in the top ten and I want to serve my country as long as I can”, world-renowned spinner Muralitharan said. He added that his aim was to enter the 500-wicket club. Mahela, who was busy practising with his team for the upcoming Sharjah tournament could not contacted.
