Windies on tour in Sri Lanka

The West Indian cricket team arrived in Sri Lanka today amidst the election fever in the country.  

It was in 1993 when the Caribbean team toured Sri Lanka last. Ritchie Richardson’s team came for a one-off Test, which happened to be Sri Lanka’s fiftieth in their history.

In 1997 the Sri Lankan cricket team toured the Caribbean for two Tests.

Sri Lanka will play three Test matches with the West Indies and will participate in a Triangular Tournament with Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is expected to arrive in Sri Lanka on November 28.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka qualified for the finals in the three-nation Champions Trophy in Sharjah on Tuesday following a 79-run win over Zimbabwe.

Nov. 13-17    : 1^st Test vs. Sri Lanka at Galle Stadium

Nov. 21-25    : 2^nd Test vs. Sri Lanka at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy

Nov. 29-Dec 3: 3^rd Test vs. Sri Lanka at SSC Grounds, Colombo

Dec 9           : 1^st ODI vs. Zimbabwe at SSC Grounds, Colombo

Dec 11          : 2^nd ODI vs. Sri Lanka at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo

Dec 15          : 3^rd ODI vs. Sri Lanka at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy

Dec 16          : 4^th ODI vs. Zimbabwe at Asgiriya Stadium, Kandy

Dec 19          : Final at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo
