Brian
Lara has showered praise on the medical team that treated him at the Kandy
General Hospital. Lara,
one of the best batsmen in the world, was injured during a mid-wicket
collision while batting against Sri Lanka at the Asgiriya International
Cricket Stadium Saturday. He underwent a successful surgical procedure to
reset his dislocated left elbow.
According
to West Indies Team Manager Ricky Skerritt, Lara wanted to thank as many
of the hospital staff as he could for the high priority they placed on
taking care of him during his 7-hour stay in the hospital.
“Sri
Lanka should be proud of the speed and efficiency of the response by the
medical team and the Kandy General Hospital staff to the emergency caused
by Lara’s unfortunate accident”, Skerritt said.
