Sri Lanka win LG Abans Triangular Trophy

Sri Lanka squashed the Caribbeans by 34 runs in the final of the LG Abans Triangular Series at the Premadasa International Stadium Wednesday.

Sri Lanka batting first, made 253 for eight wickets off 50 overs. The West Indies had their target revised to 247 off 47 overs after rain had delayed the start of their innings. They could only muster 212 for seven wickets.

Sri Lanka's top order had performed solidly, with both Sanath Jayasuriya (64) and Mahela Jayawardena (63) scoring entertaining half-centuries.

Sri Lankan Skipper Sanath Jayasuriya was adjudged the Man of the Match and the Series after making an aggregate of 194 runs, claiming eight wickets and two catches.
