Off
spinner Muttiah Muralitharan’s 13-wicket haul in the second Test against
Zimbabwe put him on top of the world
bowling ratings for the first time on Monday.
Murali,
who replaces Australia’s Glenn McGrath at number one, also currently
tops the one-day ratings.
"The 500-wicket mark is
in my mind but right now I am focusing on reaching 400 Test wickets -
that's the first milestone”, 29-year old Murali said.
He
has taken 391 wickets in 71 Test matches.
