Sri Lankan Under 19 cricket squad leaves for World Cup
[January 11, 2002 - 8.00 GMT]

The Sri Lanka squad will leave today to participate in the ICC Under 19 World Cup 2002 in New Zealand.

Dhammika Niroshan who earlier led an under 19 side to Pakistan for a limited over series captains the team. A notable feature is that most of the cricketers in the Sri Lankan squad are from schools in the outstations. 

Sri Lanka’s opening fixture will be against hosts New Zealand on January 19.
