Young Sri Lankan Oshada Wijemanne proceeded to the finals of the qualifying rounds of the Futures Tennis Championships when he beat Ankur Singla of India in straight sets on Sunday at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association grounds Colombo.

The 15-year-old played consistent tennis to dispose of the Indian 7/5,6/4.

He had a hard time in both sets as Singla used serve and volley tactics to get quick points, but Wijemanne rallied back to be the only Sri Lankan till now to win a match.

Wijemanne will meet Christian Magg of Austria in the final where the winner qualifies for the main draw.
