Sri Lanka to host Asian Athletics Championship in August

The Sri Lanka will be the venue for the Asian Track and Field Championship from the 12^th to the 19th of August. 

Cabinet spokesman G.L. Peiris said Wednesday. "This championship will prove that there is a favorable environment in the country for foreigners to visit Sri Lanka." 

The 1st Asian Athletics Championship was held in 1949 in New Delhi.
