Ceat International Cricketer for 2000/2001: Muttiah Muralitharan

Spin wizard Muttaiah Muralitharan will be crowned Ceat International Cricketer for 2000/2001 in Mumbai today. 

Muralitharan has dominated the Ceat International Cricket Ratings since May 2000 due to his spectacular performance in one-day internationals and Test matches and is the top contender for the Ceat International Cricketer for 2001-2002 as well. 

Vice Captain Marvan Atapattu will also be honoured as the Ceat International Batsman for 2000/2001 at Saturday’s awards ceremony. 

The Ceat rating system was created by three of cricket’s greats - Ian Chappell, Sunil Gavaskar and Clive Lloyd.
