Kenya made 210 runs for 9 wickets when they took on Sri Lanka at the Nairobi Gymkhana Ground today.

After defeating New Zealand in its first match by 47 runs, Sri Lanka - steamrolled Bangladesh by 10 wickets and then thrashed Canada, bowling the North American team out for a record low of 36 on its way to a nine-wicket win.

In their preliminary match of the 1996 World Cup with Kenya in Kandy, Sri Lanka piled up a record World Cup total of 395-5 from 50 overs. The Kenyans replied with their own World Cup best of 254-7.

Before this tournament, Kenya had only won one previous World Cup match, and that was its famous victory against the West Indies in 1996.
